Content:
GoWYLD links to the statewide databases,WYLDCat and regional library catalogs, as well as Wyoming content on the Internet. GoWYLD links to nearly 1500 external pages, divided into 27 categories. There is an email reference form, a frequently asked reference questions page, and a search engine.
History:
The idea for a portal page to Wyoming information began in January 2000. It was to be a generic homepage for Wyoming libraries that did not have a web presence. When it was thought to possibly include more than just WYLD member libraries, it was taken to the Resource Sharing Council in May of 2000.
The Resource Sharing Council took it one step further, and proposed a portal page as a single point of access to the Internet. After further discussion, it was decided to focus the portal on Wyoming information found on the world wide web.
